TaylorMade Homes has been building homes in Clark County for over ten years. Peter Glavin, president and owner, has been building for over 15 years, all in Clark County. TaylorMade has built over 500 homes from entry level to custom. In the fall of 2006, Peter Glavin decided to completely change the direction of his company, by building only certified green homes.
Currently, TaylorMade is building a 25 lot subdivision in Camas, Washington, on Prune Hill. All homes will be certified to three standards. They are Energy Star, Earth Advantage and LEEDH, which is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. LEEDH is considered one of the most rigorous certification programs currently being offered in the entire United States. No one else in Clark County is currently building to all three standards.
TaylorMade Homes has not just revolutionized how they are building homes. TaylorMade and Peter Glavin have also made major changes to how the business is run and how energy and resources are consumed. Everyone in the company has been brought on board to walk the walk, not just talk the talk. For instance, Peter Glavin sold his gas guzzling company SUV and now drives a Toyota Prius. The company also recycles, uses recycled paper, in the office and purchases "GREEN" electricity.
On site recycling is also taken very seriously and much thought
is given in every area of construction to make sure that the least amount of resources as possible is used.
